Riveting Welding Soldering
Is it possible that the accession of the copper strip to the steel blade?

Different type epoxy adhesives do the trick. However, we must remember that the coefficients of thermal expansion of two different metals (I think the principle is used to make thermometers cheap), so if the link is very strong sandwich twist and buckle.
