custom design welding helmets
Does anyone know how to hand paint a welding helmet?

Does anyone know how to paint in a welding helmet? I have a friend whose boyfriend is graduating from welding school next year. Since I am an artist who wants to buy old or black and hand me a custom design painted on it. No problem. I research online and found that welding helmets are mainly composed of glass fibers or a mixture of poly resin … and people that made them hand painted with polyurethane paint … but everything they say. Do not cover the work you need to clear final and if so with what? Since you want to assume that work in a hot environment and type of flammable paint and varnish used should be safe … Does anyone have tips or suggestions on where to start this project … What materials to use … and how to make the final product as safe as possible?

I did what I always do when I want to launch a new range of products … I dig first to see what everyone else does. (Then, usually try to do even better!) Anyway, many artists are kind enough to share their techniques, if you want just google "welding helmet painting." Many of them seem to be using the primers, paints and finishes that are made for motorcycles. Http: / / www.cyclecolor.com/.
