Yanmar diesel engine?

I have a diesel Yanmar 3TN that has a hole in the No. 3 cylinder. I want to weld the backup block, but I do not know if the block is cast iron, steel or iron pot. Please advise .. Thanks

is the hole in the cylinder or the crankcase? If the cylinder handle can be mounted to the piston cylinder barrel boring and then press again along. if crank case, I would recommend replacing it as welding Heat distorts everything.
