what kind of care do beta’s need?
when i say care, i mean what else do i need other than: 4 gallon biOrb bowl, halogen light, air pump, plug top 12V transformer, ceramic media, filter cartridge, bubble tube, airstone, tap water treatment, and fish food. I am only getting one male beta fish btw
If you want your fish to live and you are in a climate where the average and stable room temperature drops below 75 degrees F, then get a heater.
Anyone that says you do not need a heater invariably kill their betta at young ages, or live where it is warm enough to get by without a heater. When properly cared for these fish live over 10 years (my record is Charlie who is currently 12)! If adequately cared for you can look forward to five years. If improperly cared for that fish will die before it reaches three, and usually within the first year.
Of al the items you have, the heater is the most important adn something you definately need.
