Bearing Abec
Is this longboard good?
I am wondering if i should buy this longboard. But its my first one and im not sure how to tell if its good or not. I am looking for one to just ride down the rode. Here are the details…
Deck: Micro Cruiser (25″ X 7″)
Wheel: 62mm Gel Clear
Truck: 5″ Two Tone Black
Bearing: Abec 5
Hardware: 1.5″
Riser: 1/2″ Rubber
Griptape: Black
Sounds OK, hard to know without the brand name. If it’s your first long… well shortboard, it will do just fine for going down the road. Slides and tricks are out of any 25″ board’s arsenal, and trust me, you’ll get bored of going up and down the road very quickly. If it’s cheap (say, $75 – $100), then go for it, just to learn. But if it’s over that price, you need to make the decision of whether or not you are going to commit to longboarding and get a worthwhile board (probably about $250 – $350). I would recommend maybe finding a friend with a similar board and trying it out (pretty much all 25″ boards are the same).
Wheels: Ok, not the best, but will do
Trucks: Again, far from the best, but will do fine for your needs
Bearings: Abec 5 are typically what you would find on a kick scooter, take a look. Abec ranges from 3 to 13, 3 being the worst, 13 being the best
Hardwear: Never heard this term before
Riser: Fine, will do for your needs
