How I can get a welding inspector job?

I live in California, but for the contract a good job, I would be willing to temp. even change of residence in Iraq or Afghanistan. A couple of years ago told me there was a lot of high welding inspectors paid on the market. I have my AWS certified welding inspectors ICC Cert and then my career and Structural Steel High Capacity Cert. S1/S2. Now I can not find any gainful employment. Already I've done some welding a number of years, but I have no experience. What should I do? Any ideas would be appreciated? I was also thinking of doing my MT and PT Level I / certs II. If making or wait? Right now I'm out of work, but could barely afford it. I do not know if it is a good investment.

Personally, I like to make a list of companies that do nothing but welding and fabrication, a long list of where you want to work, and give them a curriculum vitae, indicating your certs CWI and S1/S2 in person. I was a welder for a while and I realized that the industry has had a fall rather well in the past 2 years but is now starting to make a trip insurance front. A great help to find a company that would require an inspector to find companies that manufacture batteries, Deposit boxes / pallets, platforms, thermal oxidizers, rotary dryers, and structural work. Also all aspects of aviation, chemical, refinery gas, and things of that nature. Hope this helps a little! Good luck on your hunt, do not give up.
