General Motors Honors Engineers Innovation Award
General Motors has announced June 12 the winners of the annual "Boss" Kettering awards, one of the success of GM's most prestigious engineering. Sixty-eight award winners from thirteen teams are ready to be recognized at a ceremony on Tuesday, 26 June, the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights, Michigan
The "Boss" Kettering GM prices are the highest internal recognition for technical innovation. Named in honor of Charles F. GM's "Boss" Kettering, the first head of GM Research and development laboratories and more than 140 patents, the award recognizes individuals worldwide whose outstanding inventions and innovations have demonstrated technological leadership and identifiable benefit to General Motors during the previous year.
"Boss Kettering Price Winners have a unique and important role in our successful company," said Jim Queen, GM group vice president, Global Engineering. " As stretch thinkers and drivers of innovation, serving as a model for GM around the world, showing the spirit, determination and commitment necessary to pave the way into the 21st century. "
The winners of this year show the emphasis on the use of genetic modification technology to improve the experience overall customer vehicle, vehicle safety, reduce the time of a product at the forefront of the market and increase production efficiency.
